The MCU Spider-Man Finally Gets Venom's Symbiote Suit In Haunting Concept Design
So far in Tom Holland's impressive run as the wall-crawling menace, Spider-Man has had plenty of wardrobe changes. There was the basic hoodie and goggles combo he had to go back to in "Spider-Man: Homecoming," the highly advanced Iron Spider attire, and in worst case scenarios unfolding in "Spider-Man: No Way Home," when he had to wear one inside out. One essential suit that fans would be itching to see Holland wear, though, the one that came with a life of its own and some pretty murderous tendencies. The black symbiote suit that eventually found its way to Eddie Brock and turned him into Venom is legendary. Well, thanks to incredible concept artist Thomas du Crest, we've got a horrifying idea of what that would look like.
Debuting in Marvel's Amazing Spider-Man #252, the alien costume is as much of a world-famous fitting for Spidey as his beloved red and blue combo, and something that Crest was keen to apply his take to. Revealed on Instagram, the artist said, "While I wait for the green light to show the work I did for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' here is a small take on what might come next," alluding to the strand of a sequel tease left behind Eddie Brock's post-credit cameo. But while the inclusion of the multiverse means Tom Hardy could return to Holland's side of the spider-web, as previous films have shown, he doesn't have to.
A new breed of Venom could cause problems in Spidey's future
Small as it may be, there's still a chance that the sliver of symbiote left in Spidey's universe by Eddie Brock could find its way to the wall-crawler in the future, sparking a different take on the iconic story. While it might not be enough to cover Peter entirely at the moment, symbiotes are a hive mind, and as a result, it could find more of its kind in this dimension. In doing so, Holland could have a tussle with the symbiote, just like in the comics, and perhaps meet a brand new Eddie Brock along the way.
As established in "No Way Home," with the appearance of Peter 2 (Tobey Maguire) and Peter 3 (Andrew Garfield), anyone can wear the mask, so there's no reason that wouldn't be true for the inky black outfit that could become bonded to the Eddie Brock of Pete's world. If so, it would open up the opportunity for Holland to have a go with one of the most iconic villains in Spider-Man's history and the awesome-looking (but slightly malicious) suit that comes with it.
